I am a Scottish writer now based back in Scotland. Previously I have lived in England, Oman, Malaysia and The Netherlands.
I was the Resident Poet for the newspaper ‘The Underground’, in The Hague. My poem, ‘Laughter’ won a poetry competition and was performed by the theatre group, Alchemy Ensemble. I have had a number of short stories published about expatriate life.
As an ex-primary teacher and now a mother of three, I am very interested in the impact that moving house, either within the UK or abroad, has on children. In particular the effect this has on children’s relationships with one another.
I have a love of learning and am interested in gardening, music, nature, walking, plays, musicals, films and so much more – always with a cup of tea to hand!
I enjoy books for children, novels, poetry and all things ‘bookish’. I am currently writing a series of middle grade books. My hope is to write a book that one day the reader will get lost in and time will pass by unheeded.
Reading a story to others has always been one of my favourite things to do. One day I will read out loud a story of my own creation.
